Author Story Time: Sandra Littlejohn

We are so excited to welcome local author Sandra Littlejohn at Lark & Owl Booksellers for a story time featuring her children's books!

Sandra writes Social Emotional Learning Books - "I believe that children want to do well – if they are able. Often, children have needs that are not met or skills that they have yet to learn, and this gets in the way of them being their best. SEL books are a great tool to help children build their skills and create an opportunity to process information with an adult. Social-emotional learning (SEL) books for children focus on helping kids understand and manage emotions, build positive relationships, and develop social awareness. These books can be great tools for teaching: emotional intelligence, self-regulation, empathy, and resilience."

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Sandra LJ is a children’s author with a passion for capturing the spirit of Austin, Texas, one story at a time. With a degree in journalism from the University of Georgia, Sandra has called many places home, including Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Georgia, before finally settling in Austin with her husband over 25 years ago. The Hill Country’s charm and unique Austin originals have inspired her writing, and she celebrates the creativity that makes this city so special.

Though she’s new to independent publishing, Sandra is excited to bring the uniqueness of Austin to life for young readers, connecting them with the vibrant stories and people of her community.
